Durable, Lightweight and Protective SolutionsHard shell luggage cases are durable products preferred by travelers to ensure the safety of their belongings. These luggage cases are manufactured using the vacuum forming method; the plastic sheet is heated and drawn onto a mold using vacuum to achieve the desired shape.
Plastic materials commonly used in production are PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), PC (Polycarbonate) and ABS. Each material has different properties; durability, flexibility and transparency are among the criteria considered during the design phase.
Production Technology
The selected plastic material is heated to soften it and placed on a mold suitable for the luggage case shape. With the help of vacuum, the plastic sheet fits perfectly into the mold and is removed from the mold once cooled and hardened. Excess material is cleaned and passes through quality control.
Necessary finishing processes are applied to the manufactured luggage cases; painting, texturing or mounting hardware can be added. Thanks to the vacuum forming method, mass production can be achieved at low cost.
